HKR Architects has secured design contracts for a 23-storey five-star hotel, a 19-storey mixed-use student housing project and a large office development in London, UK.
The five-star hotel will comprise 273 rooms and include a gym, spa, signature restaurant, banqueting, conference and business centre, corporate lounges, and a panoramic bar and restaurant.
The 200,000ft² project has a louvred roof and fritted glass façade above two basement levels and the construction of the five-star hotel is scheduled to be completed in 2012.
The second contract is for a mixed-use facility, which will provide nearly 340 student rooms, includes design of a 19-storey tower coated with zinc and is due for completion in early 2013.
The third contract is for a 300,000ft² office, which will feature green-terraced roof garden tiers stepping back from the Barbican.
