Mortenson Construction and STV have completed a design-build project for the new Fort Stewart Brigade and Battalion Headquarters at Fort Stewart, Georgia, US.

The contract was awarded by the US Army Corps of Engineers for the integrated design-build process.

The three-story, 138,000ft² facility is designed and constructed to house a brigade command structure and six battalion commands.

The $23.1m new facility includes administrative areas, operations areas, classrooms, and special use spaces for a secure compartmented information facility, brigade operations centre and network operations centre.

The design team used Bentley building information modelling (BIM) software to create a
3D graphic model helping it to reduce cost, compile information quickly and share it easily among
all parties.
