Multi Development is planning to develop two inner-city retail projects in the Netherlands in September 2011 that includes the first expansion phase of downtown Nieuwegein and the new town square (Stadsplein) of Spijkenisse.

With the opening of the first phase in September, approximately 20,000m² of shops will be added.

The company will complete the second phase of the project in 2013 adding 56,000m² retail space; one of the largest urban developments in the Netherlands.

The town square (Stadsplein) in the centre of Spijkenisse is being extended by 12,500m² of shops, restaurants and apartments.

Simultaneously, the adjoining mall, the Kopspijker, which is owned by Corio, is being completely renovated.
