LCOR has completed a 14-storey, $131m office building, which will house the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).

The NRC building was designed by HOK to meet LEED CS Silver standards for green buildings and Turner will be the general contractor for the new building.

With 362,000ft², the urban-scale, pedestrian-friendly development, which links all of the new buildings to the Metro station, is planned to include 930,000ft² of office space, 202,000ft² of retail space, four apartment buildings and a hotel.

The building, owned by a joint venture of LCOR and USAA Real Estate Company, will complete NRC’s headquarters complex on Rockville Pike and the building will house 1,300 people.

Construction work of the tower began in July 2010.
