Kerry Hill to design library in Perth

Kerry Hill Architects has been selected from 18 different proposals to design the city library and plaza in Perth, Western Australia.

The library building, built on the site of the Law Chambers Building, will cover 3,500m² and include meeting rooms, gallery spaces, a cafe / tenancy and amenities and incorporate sustainable design features.

The city’s new public lending library and public plaza will form part of the city’s $55m St George’s Cathedral Heritage Precinct redevelopment.

Construction of the library is planned to commence in November 2012 and expected to be complete by 2014.
