Skanska’s Green Horizon office complex, currently under development in Lodz, Poland, has secured LEED Gold pre-certification from the US Green Building Council.

The design concept incorporates green and sustainable solutions, which will reduce energy consumption to 25% lower than specified by local regulations.

The office complex will comprise two buildings with a total area of 33,000m², where 19,000m&178; will be developed in phase I and 14,000m² will be developed in phase II.

The construction work of the first phase of the project began in the second quarter of 2011 and its completion is planned for the fourth quarter of 2012.

Green Horizon is the first commercial project developed by Skanska Property Poland in Lódz and will also be a candidate for the EU GreenBuilding certificate.
