EDC submits £1bn development in Scotland

Elsick Development Company (EDC) has submitted the first planning applications to Aberdeenshire Council for a £1bn new town development called Chapelton, in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The company wants to transform 2,000 acres of farmland ten miles south of Aberdeen into the new town

Elsick Development Company (EDC) has submitted the first planning applications to Aberdeenshire Council for a £1bn new town development called Chapelton, in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

The company wants to transform 2,000 acres of farmland ten miles south of Aberdeen into the new town of Chapelton, complete with 9,000 homes, retail space and local schools.

The planning applications include an outline application for the first 4,045 houses of the community.

The first phase includes approximately 800 homes, as well as a neighbourhood centre featuring shops, offices and parks.
