NCC starts work on Hämeenlinna development in Finland

Swedish construction company NCC has begun construction on the first phase of a development project in central Hämeenlinna in Finland.

The Skr1bn ($152.7m) project includes a shopping centre with approximately 26,500m² of leasable floor space, 800 parking spaces and 200 housing units.

The project will be operated on a proprietary basis by NCC Property Development and construction will be executed by NCC Construction Finland.

Half of the leasable space in the shopping centre is now leased.

The entire project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2014.
