Pelli Firm Sued Over Orange County Complex

World famous award-winning architectural firm Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects is being sued by the Orange County Performing Arts Centre over the design and build of the $240m concert hall. The centre's committee claims the firm blew out budget as a result of design problems.

World famous award-winning architectural firm Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects is being sued by the Orange County Performing Arts Centre over the design and build of the $240m concert hall.

The centre's committee claims the firm blew out budget as a result of design problems.

Landscape architect Peter Walker and Partners are also being sued by the non-profit committee.

The original budget for the hall was to be $200m.

The Orange County Performing Arts Centre was completed in September last year. Sitting on six acres of land it included a 2,000-seat concert hall and 500-seat multi-purpose theatre as well as rehearsal rooms and a dedicated space for the resident Pacific Symphony Orchestra.

Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects Cesar Pelli has been voted in the past as one of America's top-ten influential living American architects.
