A design by one of the world's most famous architects, Frank Gehry, looks set to put the small US town of Lehi, Utah, on the map by designing a new complex for its 36,000 residents.

Commissioned by Utah entrepreneur Brandt Andersen, the 85-acre development will feature an amphitheatre, shopping centre, restaurants and a 450ft hotel, all set along man-made lakes.

Gehry will also design a 10,000-seat arena for the National Basketball Association expansion team, according to a report on Bloomberg.com.

It is expected the design will differ from other famous Gehry works and will compliment the natural beauty of the region.
