Schools Programme Set to Boost British Construction Sector

The UK Government has announced a massive schools building programme, set to boost the construction industry. More than 1,500 primary schools will be rebuilt or refurbished as part of a £3.55bn Primary Capital programme. Ed Balls pointed out the benefits for the construction industry,

The UK Government has announced a massive schools building programme, set to boost the construction industry.
More than 1,500 primary schools will be rebuilt or refurbished as part of a £3.55bn Primary Capital programme.

Ed Balls pointed out the benefits for the construction industry, which will see will see £1.75bn earmarked for building work across the country.

“Such a massive capital funding injection will have big spin-off benefits for the construction industry and local businesses, who will be crucial to fitting out the new and refurbished schools,” Ed Balls said.

Also included are more than 350 new or replacement primary schools, major refurbishments and new facilities at around 850 primary schools and more smaller building projects at a further 350 schools.
