Lend Lease has announced the seven architects that will help design the £2bn Athletes' Village for the 2012 London Olympics, according to a report on building.co.uk today.

The announcement, which included news of a new masterplanning team for the project, was made during a visit by the International Olympic Committee to London.

Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM) - the previous masterplanners - were not mentioned by Lend Lease, which instead said Patel Taylor was in its place.

Lend Lease did say that AHMM would be designing an education academy for the village but did not go any further in explaining the change of appointment.

Architects Caruso St John, dRMM, DSDHA, Denton Corker Marshall, Eric Parry, Ian Ritchie and Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands will work on the village design.

Together they will create the plans for the residential blocks and towers and other village buildings.
