Valencia Football Club’s new stadium in Spain has joined the growing ranks of big name projects to hit problems due to credit shortages.
The 75,000-seat stadium, designed by Madrid-based Reid Fenwick Asociados currently stands half built after the club ran out of funds.
The stadium was originally scheduled to be built in time for the 2009-2010 football season but this was pushed back until the 2010-2011 campaign.
The stadium, which has a pitch dimension 105m×68m, has been designed to attain five-star status from FIFA. The club’s aim was ‘to build the greatest stadium in the world’.
