UK Darwin Centre Set to Open

The Natural History Museum's new Darwin Centre in London, UK, is set to open next week. The new centre design by Danish practice CF Møller Architects features a 65m-long, eight-storey Cocoon at the centre of the building - the largest sprayed concrete, curved structure in Europe.

The new centre design by Danish practice CF Møller Architects features a 65m-long, eight-storey Cocoon at the centre of the building - the largest sprayed concrete, curved structure in Europe.

The centre will showcase 3.3km of cabinets that hold millions of plants and insects.

The state-of-the-art scientific research and collections storage facility will offer space that can be used by over 200 scientists at a time and will safeguard 17 million insect and three million plant specimens.
