Global social networking website Facebook has unveiled its new headquarters in Palo Alto, California, US.
The 150,000ft² building designed by San Francisco architects Studio O + A will house the company's 700 personnel in variety of flexible and comfortable environments, the architects said.
Skateboarding down the halls of the building and writing on the walls is positively encouraged.
The internal design emulates Facebook's online theme which divides staff into 'groups' or communities. Each space was developed with the help of staff members from previous office.
The structure was constructed in line with the 2008 Green Building Ordinance.
Extensive use of existing architectural features, such as recycled millwork from the original lab were used in the design.
