The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is set to unveil its manifesto for architecture to include the retrofitting of millions of homes and the introduction of smart energy meters in every building,

The manifesto, which will unveiled at the Liberal Democrat conference next week, urges all parties to rehabilitate four million homes and introduce smart energy meters in all building.

RIBA is also calling for the publication of carbon bills by energy companies.

According to the manifesto, all new homes should have the same minimum space, design and environmental standards whether privately or publicly funded.
