Practices Selected for NZ Queen’s Wharf Design

Five finalists have been selected for the second round of the Queen's Wharf design competition in New Zealand. The project design will feature public spaces, a cruise ship passenger terminal and a venue to cater to the 2011 Rugby World Cup and other future events. Construkt/SV

Five finalists have been selected for the second round of the Queen's Wharf design competition in New Zealand.

The project design will feature public spaces, a cruise ship passenger terminal and a venue to cater to the 2011 Rugby World Cup and other future events.

Construkt/SVB, Field Landscape Architecture, Tasman Studio, Williams Architects and Andrius Gedgudas were the five finalists selected among 237 applicants.

The site for the proposed Queen's Wharf development has been purchased jointly by the Auckland Regional Council (ARC) and the New Zealand Government.

The final winner will be announced in November 2009.
