The £500m MediaCityUK, located in Salford Quays, Manchester, England has been awarded BRE environmental assessment method (BREEAM) sustainable community status.

The 36-acre site has incorporated sustainability concepts into the design including using water from Manchester Ship Canal to power, heat and cool the buildings.

Tri-Gen’s heat and power plant energy system supplies power to all the buildings including the 216-bed hotel and the seven HD and two audio studios.

Tri Gen reduces CO2 emissions to a large extent and provides lot of benefits compared to the conventional approach of installation of boilers and chillers.

MediaCityUK has been jointly developed by the Central Salford Urban Regeneration Company, Peel Holdings and Salford City Council.
