The UK’s Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) has approved designs for a new underground train station in London.

The scheme has been designed by US firm Stanton Williams Architects and Hawkins / Brown led by Arup / Atkins.

The design features large glass entrances that lead to the London Underground and Crossrail station at Tottenham Court Road station in Central London.

CABE praised the design as a new landmark for central London and asked the architects to retain the mosaics by Eduardo Paolozzi.
