Danish practice COBE, in collaboration with Grontmij Carlbro and Bartenbach LichtLabor, is to revamp the Nørreport Train Station in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The consortium won a competition to redesign the train station into a public space that will also improve the Nørreport area.

The sustainable design features an array of round floating roofs clad in transparent glass pavilions, to make the station easily visible and accessible.

The station's bicycle parking area will be lit by LED lights and the platform area will be outfitted with 11 ventilation towers, according to the design.

The towers will offer lightning and double up as digital signage pillars with LED screens displaying train departure times and advertisements.
