The revamp of the Sydney Opera House, designed by Danish architects Jørn Utzon and Jan Utzon, has begun in Australia.

The design team has collaborated with Australian practice Johnson Pilton Walker on the project, which portrays a single unified western foyer with additional ticketing, toilet and cloakroom facilities.

Improved accessibility features such as new escalators and a public lift are also part of the revamp.

The $38m project was funded through a grant from the New South Wales Government.
