Austrian practice Coop Himmelb(l)au has unveiled designs for the 300-seat Pavilion 21 Mini Opera Space in Munich, Germany.

The scheme has been designed for the Bavarian State Opera and is sponsored by the car manufacturer Mini.

The pavilion is 21m long and approximately 17m wide, with a height ranging between 6m and 8m.

The structure will be used during the Munich Opera Festival in 2010.

The structure is expected to be mobile and lightweight and will be erected to act as a sound reflector that will use a digital design method to enhance the acoustics within.
