360 and WSP Flack + Kurtz Design $500m Iraqi Soccer Stadium

US-based WSP Flack + Kurtz, in collaboration with 360 Architecture, is designing a new 65,000-seat soccer stadium in Basra, Iraq. The $500m stadium, being financed by the Iraqi Government, will include a 10,000-seat practice stadium, training facilities, parking, athletes accommodation

US-based WSP Flack + Kurtz, in collaboration with 360 Architecture, is designing a new 65,000-seat soccer stadium in Basra, Iraq.

The $500m stadium, being financed by the Iraqi Government, will include a 10,000-seat practice stadium, training facilities, parking, athletes accommodation block and a fire station.

WSP Flack + Kurtz will work on the stadium’s mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, lighting and other site infrastructure components.

The stadium is expected to be open in time for the 2013 Gulf Cup.
