A new technology developed by Australian scientific research organisation CSIRO claims to help buildings reduce energy and costs by 30%.

The new technology is designed to help reduce energy consumption and costs, improve tenant comfort and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The technology, BuildingIQ, which has been launched this week, offers tenants provision to give feedback on comfort and information on energy consumption.

The Australian environment minister announced that in 2010, buildings over 2,000m² will have to disclose their energy efficiency whenever they are sold or leased.
