The 57-storey Vdara Hotel & Spa, designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects has opened in Las Vegas, US.
The hotel features 1,495 rooms and marks the completion of the $8.5bn CityCenter MGM development.
The 1.6 million ft² crescent-shaped tower offers views of the Las Vegas desert and features three recessed segments of different heights and contrasting colours.
The building is enveloped in reflective vision glass and light-diffusing, acid-etched spandrel glass in black and white, which gives a shimmering texture on the façade. The curved body of the hotel helps to optimise natural light infusion and views.
The hotel also features a curved pool deck, feature bar, two-level Vdara Health & Beauty, sky pool and lounge, conference centre with meeting rooms, sub-divisible 4,000ft² ballroom, boardroom, and a pre-function/registration area.
CityCenter is a collaboration between MGM MIRAGE and Infinity World Development Corp, a subsidiary of Dubai World.
CityCenter features Norman Foster’s Harmon Hotel, Daniel Libeskind’s Crystals, Helmut Jahn’s Veer Towers, KPF’s Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas and Pelli Clarke Pelli’s ARIA, a resort and casino.
