Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) has unveiled the designs for Mandarin Oriental hotel in Las Vegas, US.

The scheme features 392 luxurious rooms and 225 branded condominium residences as well as a ballroom and retail space.

The one-million-square-foot hotel sits atop a podium made of zinc, titanium, granite and limestone rising vertically into a façade inspired by traditional Chinese motifs.

The design has vertical panels of aluminium and glass with a horizontal frit.

Express shuttle elevators will lead to swimming pool and spa on the sixth and seventh floors, and a sky lobby on the 23rd floor.

Sustainable features such as the central plant, thermal façade system, sustainable building materials, day-lighting controls, 45% water reduction strategies enabled the project to achieve LEED gold certification.

The hotel is part of the 67-acre CityCenter development, which is a collaboration between MGM Mirage and Infinity World Development Corp, a subsidiary of troubled company Dubai World.
