The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) has criticised the proposed Regal Tower in Birmingham, England.

CABE has asked Aedas Architects to rethink its design for the development, which was void of urban design considerations.

The proposed 200m mixed-use scheme features a hotel, apartment and retail skyscraper.

CABE also criticised the proposed height, sustainability and pixellated elevations, which it said were not feasible for the city.

The planning application for the scheme was submitted in October 2009 by developer Regal Property Group.
