Australian practice Bates Smart Architects has designed a new mixed-use tower for 735 Collins Street in Melbourne's docklands.

The tower is one of four planned towers for the site.

The tower will house the Australian Tax Office (ATO) and is being delivered for developer Walker Corporation.

The building is a series of stacked alternate boxes with textured recessed elements akin to industrial container boxes.

The low-level façades will incorporate textured steel wall elements, while the approach area will feature glazed retail spaces.

The building expects to achieve a five-star Green Star rating and five-star ABGR standard.
