KieranTimberlake’s design was selected by the US Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations ahead of three other firms: Morphosis Architects, Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and Richard Meier & Partners, in the final phase of the competition.
The winning design met the competition’s mission statement for creating an iconic and sustainable embassy.

Ground-breaking is scheduled for 2013 and the building is expected to be complete in 2017, according to the US Department of State.
