US-based Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio (RTJ+R) has designed a $150m mixed-use development in Chengdu, China.

The project will be housed on 66 acres and will feature a five-storey, 220-room hotel, as well as 200 homes along with 200,000ft² of retail space.

The practice will collaborate with US-based architecture and urban design studio Land Plus Associates on the project.

RJT+R principal Dan Joy said the design was based on a fresh interpretation of a classical European resort design fused with Asian cultural influences.
