Scottish design watchdog Architecture + Design Scotland (A+DS) has backed a controversial £1bn golf course scheme in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Gareth Hoskins Architects created the master plan for the 566ha scheme, which includes a holiday village, a hotel, a golf club, and residential and public spaces.

The A+DS report praised the practice's response and distribution of buildings across the site, but said that residential and public spaces would have to be integrated into the architectural landscape.

Hoskins began work on the scheme in 2008 when the proposal won outline planning consent.

The proposal will be on public display at the Udny Arms Hotel, Newburgh, later this month.
