Several projects in Houston, Texas, have been awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certificates by the US Green Building Council (GBC).
According to the GBC, 30 projects in the Houston area have been awarded the coveted Gold certificate. 1,280 in total in the area achieved some level of certification.
Hermann Park Lake Plaza, which was among those credited by the GBC, features five new buildings and a mini train depot.
Some of the residential green buildings were built so recently they are not even fully let, according to the Houston Chronicle.
