The Architecture Billings Index recovered slightly by 2.3 points to 44.8 in February for non-residential construction, according to the American Institute of Architects.

Future projects dipped 0.5 points in February to 52.0 following a seven-point drop in January as stimulus financing for building projects had yet to be awarded.

The Midwest region stood at 49.4 while all the four US construction sectors remained below 50.

Billings for apartment buildings also fell below 50 after a rise the previous month, according to Reuters.
