Planning permission has been received to temporarily redesign Greenwich Park for the London 2012 equestrian and modern pentathlon events.

Greenwich Council Planning Committee approved temporary use of land at Greenwich Park, the National Maritime Museum, the Old Royal Naval College and Blackheath Circus Field.

The international equestrian federation said it would work with the London organising committee for the Olympic Games to develop the venue.

On completion of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, the site will be restored in line with the reinstatement plan, Royal Parks and other statutory bodies, according to the organising committee.
