An arts and cultural centre on Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston, Massachusetts, has been shelved due to shortfall in funding.

Designed by architect Daniel Libeskind, the $80m centre had originally been launched in collaboration with the Greater Boston Jewish Community Centers and the Combined Jewish Philanthropies.

Libeskind, who designed the rebuilding of Ground Zero in New York, the Jewish Museum in Berlin and the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco, said the new center promoted tolerance, reports jta.org.
