Work Starts on Finnish Low Carbon Project

Construction company SRV and service provider VVO have jointly announced a €60m investment in a low-carbon housing and commercial building complex in Helsinki, Finland. Work will start immediately on the 22,000m² complex, whioch will provide new residences, offices and retail space

Construction company SRV and service provider VVO have jointly announced a €60m investment in a low-carbon housing and commercial building complex in Helsinki, Finland.

Work will start immediately on the 22,000m² complex, whioch will provide new residences, offices and retail space, and will be built using sustainable materials and methods, thereby offering zero carbon emissions.

Helsinki's deputy mayor said the Low2No City Block in Jätkäsaari is an important step towards sustainable development.

Work is scheduled to be complete by 2012.
