Design plans for the proposed George W Bush Presidential Center, to be located at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, USA, have been unveiled.

Designed by the architect Robert A M Stern, the plans reveal a single building housing a library, museum and policy institute.

The updated plans offer new details of the landscaping, elevations and exterior design including two parking lots north of the library.

The 227,000ft² building will be built using brick and limestone to integrate with the existing university's architecture, and will be ensconced in a Texas-inspired landscape.

Construction work will begin in November this year, and is scheduled to be complete by 2013.

The George W Bush Foundation intends to raise about $300m, most of which will be used for constructing the scheme, according to The Associated Press.

The exact cost of construction has not been revealed, however, the foundation has already received funds from 40,000 online donors.
