An competition is to be held by the Danish Industry Foundation to design a new Sino-Danish Centre for Research and Education in Beijing, China.

The centre will be located at the Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Industry Foundation House building, close to the Great Wall of China.

The kr80m ($14.6m) scheme received funding from the Danish Industry Foundation and will be complete in 2013.

The project follows the signing of an agreement paving the way for research collaboration, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

The centre will require kr100m ($18.25m) a year to run, which will be financed jointly by the Chinese University, the Danish universities and the Danish State.
