The 46-storey Heron Tower in London, UK, has reached the topping out phase aided by the developer Heron International and construction firm Skanska.

Touted as the tallest building in the City of London, the glass and steel tower will be completed in February next year.

The structure will add 40,836m² of commercial office space including restaurants and a sky bar.

Plans for Heron Tower began in 1999 and the developer foresees no problems in finding companies wanting to use the office space.
