Developer Mubadala Real Estate and Hospitality has unveiled a revamped design for the Mina Zayed project in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The new designs will feature a 17,000-seat arena and low-rise buildings, restaurants and residential apartments in a bid to create a livable waterfront community.

Located at the Mina Zayed port facing Lulu Island, the scheme offers views of the Corniche and the Gulf.

The scheme will retain the Rafael Viñoly-designed cylindrical building at the centre, which will have a motorised canopy rotating around it to provide shade.

The building will house three hotels – the Bellagio, Skylofts and MGM Grand from the MGM Mirage portfolio.

Remaining buildings will be limited to ten storeys, according to thenational.ae.
