The new master plan for 12.8-acre Chelsea Barracks site located in London, UK, has been unveiled.
The proposed plan has been designed by Dixon Jones, Squire & Partners Architects and Kim Wilkie Associates and is being delivered for the developer and landowner, the Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company.
The mixed-use scheme will feature flats and houses with shops, community facilities, a boutique hotel, a community sports facility and a medical centre. The development will also incorporate squares and gardens.
Previous plans by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners were dropped in June 2009, following which, Qatari Diar worked with the local community on the new project.
The developer presented the initial master plan concept for the development to both the Residents Liaison Group and the Community Liaison Group.
The developer said the project work would be completed in a series of phases with teams of architects working on the site.
The master plan will be submitted to Westminster City Council later this year, according to architectsjournal.co.uk.
