A shortlist of three designs has been drawn up the new Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive in California, US.
Ann Beha Architects, Diller Scofidio + Renfro and Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects were the three practices selected from ten architectural firms.
The winning practice, to be announced soon, will work with local firm EHDD on the proposed 100,000ft² project.
The scheme is being developed by the University of California as the existing building is seismically unsafe.
The new facility will be located across the campus and will be complete in 2014.
The university cancelled a previous commission awarded to Japanese architecture firm, Toyo Ito & Associates in 2006 and decided to choose a new firm last year, according to bizjournals.com
