The Mersey Stadia-Connex group has unveiled the designs for a “Siamese stadium” to house two rival football clubs at Stanley Park in Liverpool, UK.
The adjoined 50,000-seater stadiums will, if approved, become the home grounds for Everton and Liverpool, and will save a total of between £180m ($118m) and £220m ($325m) in construction costs, compared with two separate stadiums.
The consortium said the development would house a 300-room hotel and corporate facilities. It has the potential to add an extra 10,000 seats and the scheme could be transferred to a different location if required.
Everton, however, described the scheme as unworkable and undeliverable, according to pattayadailynews.com.
