Uruguayan-born architect Rafael Viñoly has been approached by the owners of Manchester City Football Club to design a £1bn ($1.4bn) sports and leisure complex at Eastlands in Manchester, UK.

The design will see the transformation of a 200-acre site, which will include a £5m ($7.3m) training complex, a five-star hotel, sports and leisure centres, restaurants and bars.
