The revamped Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa, Canada, is expected to open this month following a six-year renovation, which costs $216m.
The project was funded by the Government of Canada and $12m secured from corporate and individual donors to develop five new signature exhibitions.
The renovation, which began in 2004, includes transformation of the 100-year-old Victoria Memorial Museum Building, along with the addition of two gallery spaces and a glass lantern.
The building was also upgraded to meet modern building and seismic codes while heritage components were restored.
The design also added museum-standard environmental controls, a shipping and receiving facility and visitor amenities.
