David Chipperfield Architects has unveiled the final public spaces for the Anchorage Museum at the Rasmuson Center in Alaska, US.

The Smithsonian arctic studies centre and Conocophillips gallery have been opened along with a new public space, the Common, designed by Charles Anderson Landscape Architects.

A 24ft-tall sculpture by Antony Gormley will be exhibited in the new area.

The new four-story building, based on five linear volumes arranged along the western face of the existing building, forms a new façade and entrance.
