US-based practice Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is to build the new headquarters for Japan Tobacco International in Geneva, Switzerland.
The practice will design the 25,000ft² building following its win in an international competition.
The building will be located in the Sécheron area and will be complete by 2013.
Swiss practice group8 has also been appointed to work on the project, according to bdonline.co.uk.
The scheme will add an articulated roofscape and central courtyard that will allow natural light into the building.
The design will offer views over the lake and surrounding parks.
