UK-based Grimshaw Architects has unveiled designs for a new terminal at Pulkovo Airport, Russia.
Ground-breaking for the project is scheduled for 26 June.
The terminal design will incorporate references from the historic city of St Petersburg.
The building’s undulating roof is designed to cope with massive snowfalls, while the internal spaces are lit by light reflectors in the roof.
The new terminal is due to begin operations in 2013, according to local press reports.
