New plans have been unveiled to demolish Scotland’s historic Perth City Hall and build a new civic square in its place.
A public consultation for the project found 43% of the public and 52% of business in favour of the development.
Perth and Kinross Council is due to discuss the project next week, reports the BBC.
Demolition of the Grade B-listed buildings will also need approval from Historic Scotland and Scottish ministers.
The local authority said demolishing the hall would improve the setting of St John’s Kirk in the city, and help bring more visitors to Perth.
