Landscape and architecture firm SWA Group has won a competition to design an area of the Yangtze River waterfront in Nanjing, China.
The firm beat four other finalists to win the project and will begin detailed design in July this year.
The project will feature a Yangtze EcoPark, which will include an eco hotel, shopping, housing and office spaces located on a 75ha site.
The scheme will also house an international art museum, an anthropology museum and a waterworks park.
The Hexi Riverfront Park will feature a Hexi Plaza, which includes a performing arts centre and retail and residential spaces on a 64ha site.
The company expects to begin initial construction in 2011.
